International Day Of Women And Girls In Science + Safer Internet Day
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science (IDWGS) is celebrated annually on the 11th of February. The day recognizes the critical role women and girls play in science and technology. Safer Internet Day (SID) is celebrated globally on February 9th each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people and inspire a national conversation. On Thursday, 11th February, 2021, the Ghana Society for Education Technology (GSET) partnered with Developers in Vogue and Camfed Association to commemorate the aforementioned events with the young girls of Golden Sunbeam Montessori School (Adenta)
Our resource persons from Camfed Association and Developers in Vogue spoke to the young girls on the need for them to challenge themselves in the pursuit of STEM in today’s world. The young girls were motivated to always be unique and remind themselves that they could be whoever they wanted to be if they put their minds to it. On the issue of cybersecurity, the young ladies were cautioned on some of the dangers of the internet and were given some very practical and useful tips to employ in ensuring that they do not fall prey to the numerous malicious activities on the internet today.

We are grateful to everyone who made this program possible and we send our warmest regards to our resource persons, the students and staff of Golden Sunbeam Montessori School, and our viewers as well.
