ASA Partners with GSET To Hold MATHS MASTERCLASS In Cape Coast

The seventh edition of the impactful African Science Academy (ASA) – Tullow Oil flagship program, dubbed the ASA Math Masterclass is scheduled to take place in Cape Coast on Thursday, 31st March 2022. ASA is in collaboration with the Ghana Society for Education Technology (GSET) and the Regional Ghana Education Service to run this training.
The Math Masterclass is an educational open day conference structured to share and broaden the knowledge of senior high school Math teachers as well as come up with practical and engaging ways to teach Mathematics.
This 7th edition is targeting a total of 60 mathematics teachers drawn from less-privileged areas in the region. The ASA math masterclass seeks to equip, train and guide these educators on innovative teaching techniques that can be implemented in their day-to-day lives as math teachers as well as support them to tackle some challenging math concepts.
The masterclass will focus on Math topics including Assessment in Math Instruction, Geometry and Circle Theorem, Algebra and Trigonometry as well as Technology in the Math Classroom and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion.
Since its inception in 2017, the Math Masterclass has been held in 6 regions, impacting the lives of over 300 teachers and over 45000 students across the country.
The Lead Institution, The African Science Academy, founded by the African Gifted Foundation is an all-girls school for females from all across Africa with the brightest minds who are interested in STEM. The courses they offer are Cambridge International A Level Math, Further Math and Physics.
