131 Sunflower Hub Begins National Female Pre-Tech Training
The evolution of technology is hard to predict and Data Science is no exception. Data Science technology used to involve only statistical analysis only but it has now integrated technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and data mining. Data Science has since begun to take root in other industries, including engineering, medicine as well as other industries who are in search of contemporary ways to operate with and translate data in order to improve profit and make better judgments.
There are only 28 percent of females enrolled in IT programs and as a result, women are often discouraged from using technology. It is due to this that the 131 Sunflower Hub, in partnership with the Ghana Tech Lab, Soronko Academy, the Ministry of Communication and the Mastercard Foundation Young Africa Works Program is rolling out a National Female Pre-Tech Training for females between the ages of 18 and 35.
The National Female PreTech Training Program will be running its fifth Cohort at the national level, but its third at the 131 Sunflower Hub, begun on the 21st of November, and will for the next few weeks introduce participants to the basics in Data Science and Analytics skills for personal development. This is a prelude to the Base Innovation Program which will be held in January.
